Marcelo Bielsa confirms he will remain Leeds manager for 2020/21 season

Liverpool vs Leeds

After an over 16-year hiatus, Leeds United are finally set to return to Premier League action this weekend.

The Whites, who completely dominated the Championship last term, have been handed arguably the toughest possible fixture in their first game back.

Marcelo Bielsa must take his side to Anfield on Saturday evening for a clash with reigning Premier League champions, Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s outfit, of course, boast a sensational record at home, with the odds most certainly stacked against Leeds this weekend.

Bielsa staying put

Prior to Leeds’ long-awaited return to top-flight action, Marcelo Bielsa held his first press conference as a Premier League boss on Thursday.

During the presser, the Argentine discussed a whole host of topics, one of which being his contract.

Said contract was originally set to expire at the end of June, with fresh terms yet to be penned.

However, though some Leeds fans may have begun to worry Bielsa would not sign, the veteran boss has since moved to ensure he will be at Elland Road for the forthcoming campaign.

Speaking about his contract situation in his pre-Liverpool presser, Bielsa stated:

“I will be working next season at Leeds United. Everything has been sorted and it is definite I will be here next season.”

Bielsa would also confirm that apart from Adam Forshaw, Leeds have a full squad available to face Liverpool:
