Mourinho aims jibe at Arsene Wenger over book oversight / Do Spurs now have the league’s best front-3?

Arsene Wenger receives award

Rivalry revived?

Before you pinch yourself to check if you have in fact been transported back 5 years, do not panic. The managerial rivalry which ranged from sly press conference digs to physical confrontations on the touchline has been reignited.

Arsene Wenger’s book, ‘My Life in Red and White’ was this week released. Whilst an in-depth insight into the Frenchman’s career is provided, though, there is one key omission – Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is not mentioned whatsoever.

When questioned on the oversight during his pre-West Ham press conference on Friday, Mourinho gave a classic answer:

“You are not going to do a chapter about 12 or 14 matches and never winning one.”

“So why should he speak about me in his book. A book is a thing to make you hapy to make you proud. So I understand perfectly the situation.”

Maybe we can expect a retort from Wenger in volume two?

The best front-3?

Mourinho also confirmed that Gareth Bale could make his second debut for Spurs this weekend. The Premier League could now see its new best front-three in action.

Harry Kane’s consistent goalscoring exploits have elevated him to a level among Europe’s elite. Meanwhile, South Korean superstar Heung-min Son’s recent form in front of goal has been nothing short of miraculous.

Should Bale return to the form he was in when Real Madrid made him the world’s most expensive player, Spurs’ attacking output is difficult to quantify.

However, herein lies the question. Bale’s latest seasons with Los Blancos have left the 31-year-old lacking in match fitness and form. Injuries have plagued his senior years, with the Welshman having even been accused of loving the golf course more than his day job.

West Ham could well provide the earliest indication as to which Bale has returned to London.
