Multinational tourism and travel company TUI on Wednesday listed 24 countries that will receive UK tourists starting August 1, including Greece, Portugal, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco.
The UK decided to lift travel restrictions on its citizens starting August 1.
Bookings will be available in Egypt for UK tourists in Sharm el-Sheikh hotels and resorts, in Marsa Alam and in Hurghada.
The German market is also of great importance for Egyptian tourism, since it tops the European market in tourism to Egypt.
TUI has begun gradually reopening its offices since June 9, after a temporary closure due to the coronavirus.
The company said in a statement that it opened 18 locations in the first stage. By June 16, the number rose to 105 locations.
The group emphasized that the demand for holiday travel has increased rapidly in recent days, thanks to positive signs related to traveling abroad during summer vacation.
People are either looking for summer holidays, or they are already looking for winter holidays, the statement said.
Friedrich Joussen, CEO of TUI, said that summer 2020 program bookings are 35 percent sold, although they are usually 59 percent sold, adding it was still possible to reactivate the program in the summer when countries reopen.
