South Sudan government has signed deals with Japanese government to construct at least three more in-land bridges in the country’s capital Juba.
According to a senior presidential aide, Peter Mayuk in a statement said that the government under President Salva Kiir signed a deal with the Japanese government to construct a bridge connect central Juba with its suburbs within the western part of the Nile.
“Due to his Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit soft diplomacy, the government of Japanese is going to constructing (3) bridges with in Juba City,” he said.
“Bridges are Shuhadaa Bridge along the road connecting the University of Juba roundabout and the Military hospital. Albino Bridge along the road through Malakia Market to Kator. Aggrey Jaden bridge on the road connecting Commercial and Nimra Thalatha Residential Areas,” he added.
He further explained that president Kiir’s administration “also expressed it readiness to negotiate the constructions of more (4) bridges with Japanese Government soon as possible.”
