IMF Managing Director Congratulates Port-Harcourt Global Shaper, Orukwowu

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva has showered Portharcourt Global Shapers rep,

Chukwuemeka U. Orukwowu with goodwill remarks during the recently-held World Bank and IMF Civil Society Policy Forum 2021.

Orukwowu who previously completed a Bachelors’s Degree in Finance and Banking, and serves in various capacities across Financial Services, Civic Innovation, Development Policy Research, and Nonprofit sectors.

Global Shapers Community (an initiative of the World Economic Forum) is a network of young people below 30years, with a local presence across 448 hubs in 148 Countries around the world. Chukwuemeka Orukwowu currently serves as Impact Officer of the Global Shapers Port-Harcourt Hub. In a recent social media post, he remarked thus:

“As a registered Civil Society Participant for the WBG-IMF Annual Meetings, it’s been more than an Honor to learn firsthand about the many impactful initiatives of both Apex financial institutions – as well as proffer solutions to the big problems that plague our world.”

At the 2021 IMF Townhall Meeting hosted virtually while responding to Chukwuemeka’s Questions on the Digital finance revolution and how policies are being framed; IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva explained elaborately, the various impactful initiatives of the International Monetary Fund to buttress the commitment of IMF leadership in shaping Digital transformations in developing Member countries. She applauded the young civil society leader, Chukwuemeka Orukwowu – who is based in Port-Harcourt Nigeria – for his contributions to Civic Innovation and Digital finance policy interests.

The World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings were hosted virtually in October 2021 by both Apex Financial Institutions to proffer solutions to development issues by building trust among global development stakeholders, fostering Strategic partnerships across Public-Private sectors, and engaging a shared analytical framework that works for all.
