Pushing and heckling mars DP Ruto’s Nyeri tour

It was a stormy, tension-filled entry into Nyeri Town for Deputy Presisdent William Ruto as his supporters and those of Nyeri MP Kimani Ngunjiri clashed.

Heckling and shouting matches characterized the DP’s meeting as rival supporters faced-off.

DP Ruto blasted the Nyeri MP for disrupting his meeting as a friendly crowd showed support for the Ruto camp.

Having seemingly overcome the obstacle, the bullish DP invited the crowd to publicly brush off Wambugu’s challenge.

With the tables turned, the DP cajoled the electorate to vote out the MP when his tenure lapses in 2022.

On Friday, DP Ruto kicked off a 3-day tour of Central Kenya in Muranga before proceeding to Nyeri.

Ironically, before kicking up the storm in his backyard, the Nyeri Town MP was in Kiambu County alongside Woman Representative Gathoni wa Muchomba where they drummed up support for the BBI.

He appeared to shade the Ruto camp, saying Kenyans should reject promises about 2022 from ‘leaders who are still in the government’.
