Man United on the ropes

To say that Manchester United have had a rocky start to the 2020/21 season would be something of an understatement.

The Red Devils opened their campaign with a rather embarrassing 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

United then went to pick up back-to-back wins over Brighton in the Premier League and League Cup. But, even in those victories, the Manchester powerhouse looked some way off their best.

Then, the weekend before the current international break, in one of the matches of the season so far, United completely collapsed during a meeting with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly put on shambolic displays, as the Red Devils eventually succumbed to a staggering 6-1 defeat.

Following said defeat, things have not looked too rosy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

First up, it has been reported that United are considering a move for ex-Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino.

Then, on Wednesday, it has been claimed that Bruno Fernandes has lost faith in Solskjaer.

It is being suggested that Fernandes no longer believes Solskjaer is the right man to take United forward.

McTominay insists Man United behind Solskjaer

The links to Pochettino and recent reports surrounding Fernandes, of course, look to spell trouble for Solskjaer.

However, one Man United player has since spoken out in defense of his current boss.

Said player comes in the form of Scott McTominay who, whilst away on international duty, has stated that the whole club is behind Solskjaer.

McTominay also added they believe in every word Solskjaer and his staff says:

“The whole club is behind him. We believe in every word he says, and it’s not just him.

“We trust every word from Mike Phelan, Kieran McKenna, Michael Carrick and the entire support staff.”
