Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided some updates concerning the current winter window.
Man United down Aston Villa
Manchester United returned to Premier League action last night, in a home meeting with Aston Villa.
The Red Devils headed into proceedings as the division’s in-form side, starting the day 2nd, hopeful of joining Liverpool on the top of the table.
And, when all was said and done on Friday evening, this is exactly what United managed.
Anthony Martial fired the hosts into the lead shortly before the break.
Bertrand Traore then pulled one back for Dean Smith’s side, but another Bruno Fernandes penalty eventually saw United come away with a 2-1 win, guiding them level on points with Liverpool atop the Premier League.
Starting the year as we mean to go on 👊

Solskjaer on January window & Amad Diallo
Following his side’s win over Villa, meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provided a number of updates concerning the winter winter window.
First, the Norwegian tactician expressed his hope that Amad Diallo will link up with the United squad ‘very soon’:
“Amad, we’ve had all the paperwork, I can’t see any obstacles.
“Hope very soon he will be with us. Very excited to have him in. He’ll need time to develop.”
The young winger, of course, completed a £37m move to Old Trafford from Serie A outfit Atalanta over the summer, and is expected to finally arrive in Manchester over the weeks ahead.
Barring Diallo’s arrival, though, United’s fans probably shouldn’t expect too much else when it comes to movement in and out of their side’s squad during the January window.
This comes with Solskjaer having gone on to explain:
“Apart from that I’m not thinking too much about January.”
