Burnley vs Man United

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils picked up an FA Cup win over Watford over the weekend, and are no doubt brimming with confidence as they prepare to take on Burnley at Turf Moor in 24 hours’ time.

United will head into the upcoming Premier League game-week flying high in 2nd, level on points with Liverpool.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men will not be in action in midweek, as they have already taken to the pitch once more than Man United.

So, should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. secure a positive result vs Burnley, they will actually head into their meeting with Liverpool at the weekend sitting top of the English top-flight.

Solskjaer gives Man United fitness update

Ahead of his side’s trip to Turf Moor, meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer held his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

During the presser, Solskjaer provided fitness updates on several players.

First, the Norwegian confirmed that Edinson Cavani, who is now back from suspension, is ‘ready to go’:

“Edinson has trained well since he’s been banned. He’s had a couple of days off as well – you can’t train too much. He’s ready to go.

“He’s a different option. He’s a different type of striker to Mason [Greenwood], Anthony [Martial] and Marcus [Rashford]. I’m glad to have him back and that’s why we brought him in.

“He’s contributed really well so far. I’m sure he’ll be really important for us between now and the end of the season. The end of the season starts tomorrow night.“

Solskjaer then provided the latest on the fitness of all of Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof:

“Paul and Eric didn’t do all of it, but Luke and Victor did all of it. I’ve got a decent amount of players to pick from. Let’s see with Paul and Eric and how they are tomorrow.”
