Solskjaer provides Man United team news update ahead of Leipzig

Man United vs RB Leipzig

Manchester United return to Champions League action in just over 24 hours’ time.

The Manchester powerhouse, of course, enjoyed a dream start to their European campaign.

United have been drawn in Group H, alongside PSG, RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir.

It was PSG, meanwhile, whom United faced in their tournament opener last week.

And, despite the French champions having made it all the way to the Champions League final last season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men managed to secure all 3 points in Paris.

As such, should United come away with a 2nd consecutive win on Wednesday, their chances of topping Group H will be hugely boosted.

However, Leipzig will prove no pushovers. They currently sit top of the Bundesliga, having enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season.

One positive for the Red Devils, though, is that their opponents tomorrow night are expected to be without four key players at Old Trafford. You can read more about that here.

United, on the other hand, do not seem to have too much of an issue on the injury front.

When speaking to the media on Tuesday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was drawn on his squad’s fitness.

And the Norwegian went on to confirm that he will have basically the same players to choose from as were available for the club’s stalemate with Chelsea at the weekend.

This suggests that Eric Bailly will be the only regular first-team contributor absent on Wednesday:

“It’s more or less the same squad.

“There are a couple of doubts, as you normally have after a weekend game, a tight game as we had against Chelsea.

“I think we’ve more or less the same squad.”
