With less than 3 weeks to the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, a financial crisis has hit the camp of Nigeria’s Super Eagles group opponent Equatorial Guinea.
The Football Federation in the country is still looking for funds to prepare the team for the biennial competition in Ivory Coast.
The paucity of funds rocking the team has led to the cancellation of the International friendly game scheduled against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
The warm game was slated for January 8th in Olembe Stadium but the match has been cancelled due to a cash crunch.
Super Eagles will face Guinea in the opening group match on January 14th.
