The government of Mali has finally intervened in the crisis rocking the camp of the national team which led to the players ignoring training.

The Eagles of Mali players boycotted training on Wednesday protesting the non-payment of their allowances and bonuses since February 2021.

The Ministry of Sports in the country tried to intervene but they refused to listen and insisted that their demands must be met before the game against the Scorpion of Gambia.

The Presidency came and sent a delegation led by Colonel Tounkara and the financial director of President Assimi Goïta to pay all the players bonuses.

“The players were waiting in line one after the other and received their money in cash,” according to information from the team’s camp.
