Former Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has tipped his compatriot Victor Osimhen to emerge the winner of the Most Valuable Player of the upcoming African Cup of Nations.
The Napoli striker is going to the competition as one of the most inform players having emerged as the top scorer of the qualifier with 10 goals.
While speaking with CNN, the former Chelsea star compared Osimhen with former teammate Didier Drogba in every aspect.
“If I have to pick the Player of the Tournament it will be Osimhen.
“Osimhen is on fire. He looks a bit like Didier Drogba, with a little bit of similarities here and there. He scores goals, he will give you goals, he will hold up play, a strong and energetic striker”, he said.
Osimhen will be appearing in his second AFCON tournament missing the last edition in Cameroon due to an injury
