Head coach of Nigeria Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro insisted that with they way his boys played in Abuja they would have won with big margin last Friday when they lost 0-1 to the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau.

Super Eagles fell 0-1 at home to the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau last Friday.

The three times African champions created 17 chances in Abuja while the opponents created seven. The 2013 African champions were unable to convert any of the chances to lose their top spot to the visitors.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles were able to redeem their image on Monday after a deserved home defeat to Guinea Bissau. The 2013 African Nations Cup champions beat Guinea Bissau 1-0 at their back yard to record a sweet revenge and reclaim the top spot on the group A table.

Peseiro in the post match interview said, “We could have won 6-1 in Abuja and 5-0 here in Bissau today because we played better on Friday than today. But that’s football, some times you played better than your opponents but the result will show otherwise.

“We dominated the match more at home than today but we could not convert our scoring chances.” He said.

Head coach Jose Peseiro made five changes with Semi Ajayi, Kenneth Omeruo, Frank Onyeka, Terem Moffi and Moses Simon making their starting eleven.

The Super Eagles deservedly took the lead on 30 minutes as Simon converted from the penalty spot after a foul on Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The Super Eagles are on nine points, reclaim top spot in Group A from Guinea-Bissau who are second with 7 points while Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe have 5 and 1 points respectively.
