KAA Gent of Belgium in-form striker Gift Orban is set to miss the dead rubber game against Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.
Orban is one of the players Nigerians have been yearning to see in the Super Eagles colour due to his superlative performance for the Belgian Jupiler League side.
The waiting game may have to continue as Orban is set to watch the game from the stand.
The youngster was the only player who sat out of the final training on Saturday at the Goodwill Akpabio Stadium.
The update from the team camp suggests that Orban sustained an injury on the team’s last training and will not take part in Sunday’s final group game of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
