Ahead of the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket competition, the Senegalese team has concluded an arrangement to resume camping next week for the Nigeria’s D’Tigress and others, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Senegal is among the teams that have qualified for the competition that will be hosted by Rwanda from July 28th – August 6th.
Nigeria’s D’Tigress are presently the defending champions after winning the competition back to back.
The team coach Babacar Ndiaye announced on Sunday afternoon that invitations will be extended to foreign players.
“By Tuesday, we will send the documents to the Ministry of Sports to give the tickets to the players summoned and who are outside.
We will soon start the regrouping in day school, it will probably be next June 10,” he said.
At the moment, eight teams have qualified for AfroBasket 2023: Rwanda (host country), Nigeria (defending champion), Cameroon, Egypt, Mali, Mozambique, DR Congo and Senegal which lost in the semi-final in the previous edition.
There are still 4 places left which will be won after competitions in the coming months (zone 1, 2, 3 and 7).
