Following their 2-3 win against Australia on Thursday, Nigeria’s Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has sounded a note of warning to other powerful countries.
Plumptre was in action in Brisbane when Nigeria defeated the host to the surprise of football followers across the World.
The former Leicester City defender made it clear, they have talented players that are capable of turning the table against any team.
“The depth in our team is very good,” she tells DW. “We’re a talented team and I want to go as far as possible. I think we can cause upsets and really surprise people.”
Plumptre is expected to be in action in the final group game against the Republic of Ireland.
