Days into the commencement of the 2023 Women’s Afrobasketball Championship, one of the key players of the Egyptian team has been ruled out due to injury.
The 2023 Women’s Afrobasket is scheduled to start this weekend in Kigali, Rwanda and Egypt is in the same Group as Nigeria and DR Congo.
The Egypt Basketball Federation last weekend unveiled the list of players that will represent the country.
According to the update from the team camp, Jana Al Alfy has been ruled out after sustaining an Achilles Tendon injury.
“We wish a speedy recovery to our national team player Jana Al Alfy after she suffered a cut on the Achilles tendon, you will come back stronger”, the federation statement read.
