As the draws for the preliminary round of the 2025 African Cup of Nations are set to take place this week, African soccer ruling body has continued to release modalities about it.
The football body last week announced that the draw for the 35th edition of the tournament will take place on the 20th of February, 2024.
According to the update from Cairo, the headquarters of the body, the Mambas of Mozambique and the Scorpion of Gambia will not participate in the preliminary round of the qualifier.
Both countries had decent outings in the just-concluded AFCON in Ivory Coast and it improved their rankings on the continent.
CAF further stated that both countries will go straight into the group stage of the competition.
