Lesotho Football Association has continued to work hard to ensure that the senior men’s national team have a decent outing in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The team is placed in one of the most difficult groups in the continent but the football federation retained the hope of recording decent results.

They are grouped alongside the three-time African champions, Nigeria, Rwanda, Benin, Zimbabwe and rival South Africa.

The team has been under the supervision of the interim manager Leslie Notsi and his assistant Bob Mafoso and the update coming from the team camp indicated that the FA is planning to appoint a permanent Head Coach for the senior national team.

The FA President Salemane Phafane KC held a closed-door meeting with the gaffer on Tuesday morning and suspicion is already in the air that the contract is set to be permanent.

Lesotho will play away against the Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo in the opening group game.
