The preparation of Super Eagles for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier suffered a setback on Sunday night as one of the invited defenders Bruno Onyeamaechi sustained an injury.
The superb performance of the left-back in the last International friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique earned him a recall to the national team.
His club Boavista of Portugal suffered a 1-3 home defeat to Farense and Onyeamaechi was subbed off in the 55th minute of the game.
His injury will be bad news for the Super Eagles’ boss Jose Peseiro as he continues to get the team ready for the two important games.
