Sports Minister, John Enoh, will on Thursday morning will meet with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to reassess the country’s campaign at the ongoing 2026 World Cup African qualifying series.

Nigeria having garnered three points from four matches is placed fifth on the Group C log with Rwanda, South Africa, Benin Republic who have seven points each are in the first, second and third positions respectively while Lesotho is in the fourth with four points.

Super Eagles latest defeat to Benin Republic on Sunday in Abidjan created panicks in the minds of over 200 million Nigerians of possible two consecutive non-appearance of the Super Eagles at the world cup. This forced the Sports Minister to invite the NFF on the team’s poor form.

Media Aide to the minister, Kola Daniel in a chat late Wednesday night stated that the minister would meet with the NFF chiefs this morning at the Media Center of Moshood Abiola Stadium to assess possible ways to relaunch Nigeria’s bid to qualify for the World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“Good evening colleagues, the meeting between the Honourable Minister and the NFF is holding tomorrow by 10am in the morning (at the Media Center). Thanks. He wrote on FCT SWAN platform.
