AFCON 2025 Qualifier: NFF Hands 40-man List To Bruno Labbadia

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will hand over the 40-man provisional list of players invited for the two 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier games to the newly Super Eagles appointed coach, Bruno Labbadia, once he resumes duty.

To beat the deadline date, the NFF had submitted the provisional list of the invited players to African football governing body, CAF, few weeks ago with invitation letter already sent to their clubs.

The NFF on Tuesday morning announced the appointment of the former FC Stuttgart manager who takes over as Super Eagles Coach with immediate effect.

Before his appointment, NFF’s Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen was on standby to announce the final list and lead the Super Eagles in their next two games.

However, with the announcement of Bruno, the German tactician is faced with carefully select the 23-man from the pool of 40 players in the provisional list for the two 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier games coming up in September.

The sixth German to coach the three-time African champions will on Saturday 7th September, 2024 lead the Nigeria senior national team against Benin Republic in Uyo and Rwanda on Tuesday, 10th September in Kigali.
