African Football League: Enyimba International To Get $400,000 Extra CAF Largesse

With a few weeks to the start of the inaugural edition of the African Football League, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased the money involved.

Eght clubs including Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba International are selected to be the pioneer clubs for the competition.

The football body on Monday evening announced an increment of cash for the teams involved starting from the start.

According to CAF, all the teams will get $900,000 as the participation fee as against the $500,000 that was earlier scheduled.

The semi-finalists will get $1.7 million for reaching the final four of the competition and finalist to earn $2.8 million.

The competition is expected to kick off in October with Enyimba hosting Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the first leg.
