Nigeria’s Women Handball team got an absymal start to the 2021 African Women’s Senior Handball Championship which commenced at the Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex in Cameroon on Tuesday
In the tournarnament’s curtain raiser DR Congo walloped Nigeria 35 points to 16 points.
The team saw their first campaign after twenty-seven years go off in an expected manner as the third place team in 2018 put them to the sword.
In a dominating tie, the Central Africa team overshadowed the Nigerian team in the first phase of the game by 18 to 3 points before losing at the final whistle by a 19 score margin.
The Nigerian team will go against host Cameroon on Thursday in their next game.
