Following the threat of withdrawal from this year’s Aiteo federation Cup by the club owners, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has invited the club owners to Abuja for a meeting to resolve the issue.

The Club Owners rose from the quarterly meeting last week and issued a threat of Withdrawal from the competition unless the federation pay the outstanding debt owed the 2019 champions, Kano Pillars and pay all the participating Nigeria Professional Football League clubs in the Aiteo Cup.

The football body on Thursday afternoon invited the club owners to Abuja for a meeting that likely broker a peace between both parties.

The oldest competition in Nigeria failed to take place in the country in 2020 due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic and 2019 was the last time the cup competition was held in Nigeria.

This year’s edition of the competition is already in the round of 32 and the draw and venue have been announced.

Meanwhile, Aiteo Company, the sponsor of the competition signed a five-year contract with agreement payment of Five hundred million naira (#500,000,000) per annum
