Former Super Eagles boss Sunday Ugochukwu Oliseh has revealed that newly acquired Nigeria-eligible forward Chuba Akpom will be an asset to Dutch giant Ajax Amsterdam.
Akpom joined the former European champions this summer after having a remarkable outing in the English Championship with Middlesbrough.
He was able to set a new scoring record in the Championship with an amazing 28 goals and he was adjudged to be the Player of the Season in the league.
He made his debut for the Dutch Eredivisie side last weekend and already Oliseh who has also played for the club in the past believes that Akpom has everything to be successful in Holland.
“His statistics are very good and I think he will be an asset.”
He added that their new signing will help them bounce back when the Eredivisie restarts after the international break.
“Indeed, last year didn’t go as planned,” he said.
“But the team came from years of winning everything and sometimes that happens in football.
“You have to build a great team so they must start winning matches”, he told Punch Correspondent.
