Nigeria track and field sensation, Oluwatobiloba Amusan on Thursday set a new 100m personal best of 11.14s (0.0) to win the women’s event at the Don Kirby Tailwind Invitational at the Great Friends of UNM Track Stadium.
The 24-year-old also powered to a 200m lifetime best of 22.66s (-1.1) – which seals her qualification standard for the 2022 World Championships in three different events; 100m, 200m & 100mH.
The University of Texas at El Paso undergraduate who specialises in the 100 metres hurdles and also competes as a sprinter, won the 2018 Commonwealth and 2018 African champion in the event. She is also a two-time African Games champion and won the Diamond League Trophy in Zurich in 2021 in the 100m hurdles, becoming the first Nigerian to achieve the feat.
