Unai Emery is keen on having Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze at Aston Villa ahead of next season.

According to a report by Fichajes, Aston Villa are interested in acquiring the services of the 23-year-old Nigerian international.

Villa’s manager Emery is a big admirer of the 23-year-old and wants him at the club ahead of next season.

Chukwueze has been the talk of the town ever since he scored a brace against Real Madrid to help Villarreal win 3-2.

His heroics against Los Blancos have caught the eye of multiple top clubs from across Europe. And, they are likely to push for his services in the summer.

Chukwueze joined the Spanish club back in the summer of 2017. He has since gone up the ranks and has become an integral part of their first team.

The Nigerian featured in over 195 matches for Villarreal and has been involved in 68 goals.

Chukwueze is considered a great future prospect and as a result, several clubs want to have him at their disposal. The Villarreal forward has taken his game to the next level in the ongoing season. He has scored 13 goals and has 11 assists in his 40 outings.

Chukwueze’s contract situation at Villarreal is a touch complicated. His current contract runs until the summer of 2024. While the club is eager on extending it, the player seems to be keen on a move away. And, there is a €100 million release clause in the contract. However, it might not be needed.

With just over 12 months left on the contract of the 23-year-old, the club might be forced to decide his future in the summer. They might look to sell him for the best possible offer as they would not want to risk losing out on him for free in a year’s time.

Aston Villa are keen on having him in their ranks. Unai Emery who has managed the player in the past wants him at his new club. The Spanish boss has done wonders since arriving in England and he is looking to further strengthen his team by signing the 23-year-old.

Emery believes that Chukwueze could be a great addition to the club in the short as well as the long term. The Villa boss is well aware of the potential the Nigerian international has and is desperate to have him at his disposal. However, with Villarreal keen on keeping him at the club, it will be interesting to see where the 23-year-old ends up playing his football next season.
