Bayern Munich have reportedly lined up Real Madrid‘s Luka Jovic as a potential replacement for current striker Robert Lewandowski, should he opt to leave Munich this summer.
Lewandowski’s future remains in the air ahead of the summer transfer window, with the 33-year-old’s contract due to expire in June 2023.
With no contract extension agreed at this stage, rumours surrounding his future with the Bavarians have begun to arise, with the likes of Barcelona said to be interested in acquiring his signature at the end of the 2021-22 season.
As a result, Bayern have reportedly begun to make plans for a potential exit, with Sport reporting that Jovic is one of the names on their list of targets in the event that the Polish forward leaves the Allianz Arena.
The Serbian has endured a difficult time at the Bernabeu since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in July 2019, where he has netted just three goals in 49 appearances for Los Blancos.
The report continues with potential interest from AC Milan, Inter Milan, Arsenal and Everton, although the 24-year-old’s desire is said to be to return to the Bundesliga.
Jovic enjoyed a successful spell with Frankfurt during his two-year stint, before briefly returning from Madrid on a six-month loan deal at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
