Karim Benzema has a net worth of $70 million at La Liga club Real Madrid, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Benzema, who was from Lyon, joined Real Madrid in 2009. His initial six-year contract with the club was worth $37.9 million, according to The Guardian.

Based on reports, the Frenchman’s contract with Real Madrid, which got extended in August 2021, runs through 2023. The contract gives him around $9.2 million in annual salary, with his weekly wage coming in at $195,089.

Benzema’s pay is “not as high as his ability,” but his reasonable wages have helped the club to bring in other big talents, including Eden Hazard and David Alaba, according to Marca.

Aside from being a forward for Real Madrid, Benzema has also been a key figure for France’s national team since making his debut in 2007.

In November 2015, he was banned from the national team over his alleged involvement in an attempt to blackmail his former Les Bleus teammate Mathieu Valbuena with a “sex tape” scandal.

Benzema allegedly pressured his former national teammate to pay off blackmailers threatening to reveal Valbuena’s intimate video.

In May 2021, Benzema returned to the national team. Six months later, he was found guilty of complicity in the attempted blackmail of Valbuena and was sentenced to a one-year suspended jail term.

Outside of football, Benzema makes money from his endorsement deals with several brands, including Adidas and Hyundai. Benzema has also endorsed EA Sports, Bwin, and French companies LCL and SFR.

Over the years, Benzema has also participated in charity works. Most of his donations were made through CharityStars, a venture that allows players to sell their memorabilia in auctions to raise money for charitable causes.
