Bose Omolayo Wins Gold For Nigeria In The Female 79kg . Set new Paralympics record

Nigerian camp was thrown into wild jubilation Sunday when Bose Omolayo clinched gold medal in the women’s 79 categories. She lifted 141kg to create a new paralympic record. She erased her 140kg set in 2016 during the Brazil Paralympics Games.

Her brilliant and amazing sense of lifting and above all,the intrigue in lifting it up were all that shocked the entire officials at the Hall 4F of the Tokyo International Forum which was greeted with a standing ovation for her immidiately she was declared winner of the 79kg .

An highly elated Omolayo while speaking with Tribunesport at the mixed zone was full of praises to God for been able to defend her medal and to create another Paralympics record.

‘With the sad events of the last two days where the officiating against us has been bad,I prayed to God to see me through and this has come to pass. And I am also happy that I was able to set a new Paralympics records which will take time to be broken.I am also ready to do more for my country”, she said

The President of Paralifting Federation of Nigeria, Ishaku Ruel was full of praises to the honourable minister, Mr Sunday Dare for the fatherly role he played with the athletes and the financial reward to support he gave to them, saying “this singular effort played a very positive impact on the success recorded so far and I’m excited that we have been able to win medals at the game.”

The Chef de Mission of Team Nigeria, Peter Nelson while assuring of additional medal in tomorrow event commended the athletes for behaving well and for been dedicated to serving the country at this games.

Team Nigeria now has two gold and two bronze medals in the ongoing paralympic game in Tokyo.
