The president of the body Patrice Motsepe last week announced that the qualifier will take place in October, 2024. But the competition department of the body has stated that the first round of the qualifier will take place on 25-27 and November 1-3.

The second round of the qualifier will be played on the 20-22 of December and 27-29 of the same month. Since the 3 hosts are already taking 3 slots, an additional slot will be awarded for the other engaged teams of CECAFA.
