Barcelona’s Asisat Oshoala and Paris FC Chiamaka Nnadozie have been revealed as finalists in the women’s categories for the Player of the Year at the CAF Awards 2023.
Oshoala will be competing with Nnadozie and eight other players from the continent for the women’s ‘African Player Award for 2023’ while Paris FC shot-stopper, Nnadozie was also shortlisted for the ‘Goalkeeper of the Year’ category.
In the ‘Young Player of the Year’ category, the Super Falcons newbies of Deborah Abiodun and Esther Ajakaye will compete with Moroccan defender Nesryne El Chad as well as South African Thubelihle Shamase and Ghanaian Comfort Yeboah.
Also, the Super Falcons were shortlisted for the category of ‘Best African National Team of the Year’ with the likes of Senegal, Morocco, South Africa, and Zambia.
Super Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum is also competing in the ‘Best Coach of the Year’ category alongside Reynald Pedros of Morocco, Desiree Ellis of South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns Jerry Tshabalala and Mebdi El Qaichouri of SC Casablanca.
The Awards Gala will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Movenpick Palais des Congres in Marrakech Morocco.
