CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe has urged President Bola Tinubu to put in a bid for Nigeria to host the FIFA World Cup.
A Nigerian journalist asked the CAF President ‘when can Africa host the World Cup again?’ during a press conference in Abidjan.
“I know the President of Nigeria is coming for the final, I will ask him to put in a bid for Nigeria to host the World Cup. Nigeria must put in a bid. I will have a conversation with him about it.” Motsepe said.
He equally revealed that the 2023 AFCON had over N2 billion viewers worldwide adding that Africans should be proud for this great feat.
“We have had close to 2 billion people watching AFCON globally. We should be proud as Africans and the next one will be even better.”
On Sunday, there will be 60,000 fans at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Ebimpé, to witness the 2023 AFCON final between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire.
