The skipper of Nigeria’s representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, Nyima Nwagua has expressed his happiness with their qualification for the group stage of the competition.
The Nigeria Premier Football League side had to rely on a last-minute brace from Alex Oyowah to seal a 2-0 win over Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso.
The victory catapulted the Pride of Rivers to the group stage of the tournament 2-0 on aggregate scoreline.
Former Kano Pillars forward was happy about the outcome of the game while he also appreciated the government and fans of the club.
“It was a tough match but in the end, we were able to get the group stage ticket.
“The job is not over yet, so we need all the support we can get as it is a Nigeria project.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank our fans, River State Government, the NFF and media for the support”, he said.
