Black Bulls coach, Custodio Gune has decried that individual mistakes cost his side the 4-1 defeat to Enyimba FC.

Enyimba produced a masterclass performance against Mozambique’s Black Bulls with a crucial 4-1 win to blow Group D wide open in the 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup.

The People’s Elephants secured their first win in the group stages courtesy of a brace by Joseph Atule, along with Ifeanyi Ihemekwele and Brown Ideye’s individual strikes.

He said: “I congratulate Enyimba for the good performance. We conceded an early goal which destabilized the team. We managed to get back one goal and late in the first half we conceded another goal.

“The second half, Enyimba came strong whereby they scored again and the team started getting back to the match, unfortunately, we conceded the last one. What next to do is to prepare for the last two matches.

“The difference was individual costly mistakes, especially the first two goals and compare to the last match, all the players were concentrated and they did perfectly fine. We tried to get back to the game but unfortunately Enyimba were strong.

“We still believe that we have chance to qualify if we can concentrate.”

With the result, Zamalek remain at the top followed by Al-Masry, while Black Bulls and Enyimba are tied on four points each.
