Nigeria’s Representatives in this year’s CAF inter-club competitions will return to the continent in August, as the African soccer ruling body announced dates for the start of the preliminary rounds.
Three teams including, Enyimba International, Rivers United, and Remo Stars have confirmed their places in the continent while either Bendel Insurance or Rangers International will complete the Nigerian clubs to this year’s competitions.
The football body confirmed that August 18th -20th will be the dates for the first leg of the preliminary round of the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
The second leg of the preliminary round has been fixed for the 25th – 27th of August, 2023.
The winners over the two legs will qualify for the first qualifying round of the competition.
Rivers United despite crashing out of the champions league, made it to the quarter-final of the Confederation Cup.
While Remo Stars, Plateau United, and Kwara United all crashed out in the qualifying round of the competition.
