Cameroon Picks FIBA Africa Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tourney Ticket In Lagos

The FIBA Africa Pre-Olympic qualifying tournament ended in Lagos on Sunday with Cameroon picking the ticket.

12 teams including the host Nigeria started the tournament in the nation’s economic capital, but the D’Tigers failed to make it beyond the group stage

The Nigerian side under Ogor Odaudu lost to Senegal and Mali in quick succession to crash out of the competition.

Senegal as one of the tournament favourites faced Cameroon in the final and it was the latter that came out victorious.

The game was keenly contested and the first quarter ended all square 25-25.

Cameroon took over the game in the 2nd quarter and was able to create a 10-point gap, 43-33.

Senegal rallied back in the 3rd quarter to reduce the gap but was unable to come back into the game as Cameroon ran away with an 80-74 victory.
