Championship: Nigerian Forward Muhammad Tijani Scores Late Winner For Plymouth

Plymouth Argyle returned to winning ways on Saturday with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sheffield United, thanks to a late strike from Nigerian forward Muhammad Tijani.

Sheffield United took the lead just before halftime, with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi finding the net in the 44th minute.

Plymouth responded in the 81st minute, when Ryan Hardie slotted home the equalizer to lift the home crowd.

The decisive moment came in the 88th minute as substitute Tijani struck the winning goal, securing all three points for the hosts. It marked the 24-year-old’s second goal of the season.

 

The crucial win gives Plymouth Argyle a much-needed boost in their battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.
