Panthers of Gabon joined the Desert Foxes of Algeria as the teams who have pulled out of the qualifiers for the 2024 Championship of African Nations.
The 2019 Champions Algeria, on 22nd of September, withdrew from the competition, and the country’s Football Federation chose to concentrate more on youth development.
Gabon Football Federation on Friday announced their withdrawal from the championship due to the non-competitive League in the country for almost 2 years.
” Initially registered subject to the resumption of domestic elite competitions, the national A’ team will ultimately not take part in the qualifiers for the next CHAN 2024.
Given the non-organization of the elite championships for two years, Fegafoot has therefore decided to postpone the participation of the national A’ team in the CHAN qualifiers while waiting for the domestic elite competitions to resume by the rules,” the statement stated.
