Bayern Munich superstar, Robert Lewandowski could be on his way to Stamford Bridge this summer with Chelsea ready to pounce if Barcelona drops the ball during negotiations.
The Bayern Munich striker is desperate for a move away after being left feeling unappreciated by the German giants’ long-standing pursuit of Erling Haaland and stated his desire to leave the club back in May.
Despite Lewandowski’s comments, Bayern has continually insisted that he isn’t for sale and have reportedly batted away a couple of proposals from Barcelona – who have made the 33-year-old their number one transfer target.
Lewandowski wants to move to Barcelona, but if they fail to strike a deal with Bayern then his second preference is Chelsea – who are ready to pounce if the Catalan club drop out of the race.
The Blues are in need of a goalscorer following Romelu Lukaku’s season-long loan move back to Inter Milan and manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly open to bringing the Poland international to Stamford Bridge this summer, in spite of his age.
Barcelona is still considered favourites for Lewandowski’s signature, but their delicate financial position complicates things with the club still needing to clear some space on the wage bill before able to register new players
