South Africa Premier Soccer League club Chippa United has named Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali as captain.
The Nigerian International was touted to be on his way out of the South African side following his outstanding performance for Nigeria in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Nwabali on Thursday signed a 3-year contract extension with the club and he was also named the captain of the team.
The lanky goalkeeper was among the 23 players invited for the 2025 AFCON qualifier against Benin and Rwanda next week.
