His 26 goals this season have placed Boro in the pole position of securing a spot in the elite division next season.
He was nominated for the award alongside Viktor Gyokeres (Conventry City) and Josh Brownhil (Burnley).
The winner will be announced on April 24th at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
