Super Eagles attacking winger, Samuel Chukwueze has been voted the best African player of the season.
The Villarreal CF player received his award, after the end of the match against Atlético de Madrid (2-2), the LaLiga Santander African MVP Award that makes him the best African player of the 2022/23 LaLiga season.
Chukwueze has recorded some spectacular numbers in the domestic competition. In total, the Yellows No.11 has played a total of 2348 minutes in 37 matches.
The Nigerian, who has started 27 of them, only missed the match against FC Barcelona in the first leg at the Spotify Camp Nou (3-0).
Chukwueze has handed out five assists and scored six goals, some of them of great importance, such as the spectacular brace he scored at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on 8th April.
He is now enjoying his well-deserved award, after being voted by more than 30,000 fans and 26 journalists from the continent, ahead of other top African players such as Yassine Bono, Iñaki Williams and Youssef En-Nesyri, among others.
