Regarding speculations surrounding Chuba Apom’s future with reports linking him to clubs in which Besiktas is on the forefront, former Nigeria International, Daniel Amokachi has offered his advice to the Nigerian eligible starlet.
After enduring a rocky time while on the books of PAOK in Greece from 2018 to 2020, Akpom is the subject of a transfer bid from Besiktas, with the Istanbul-based club looking to sign the 25-year-old from English second-tier team Middlesbrough.
And approaching Amokachi for advice on the offer, the Super Eagles legend said:
“Don’t even think about this offer. It’s a great opportunity for you. You should definitely wear that jersey.”
Amokachi, who played for Besiktas from 1996 to 1999 according to Sporx advised him to jump at the opportunity to play for the current Turkish league winners, with the bonus of UEFA Champions League football thrown in as well.
Despite representing England at the youth level, Chuba Apom is still eligible to represent Nigeria but it is yet to see if he’ll be considered good enough for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and a move to Besiktas might just help fire him up for such opportunity.
