Banana remained the stable fruit for members of the Super Eagles as they geared up for tomorrow’s final group game against less-fancied Guinea-Bissau at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Going by a picture that emanated from the camp, the Austin Eguavoen lads were spotted in training with banana which is believed to have been recommended by the team’s doctor.

Checks on www.medicalnewstoday.com revealed that bananas are rich in the mineral potassium, that is potassium helps maintain fluid levels in the body and regulates the movement of nutrients and waste products in and out of cells.

The website also stated that potassium also helps muscles to contract and nerve cells to respond. It keeps the heart beating regularly and can reduce the effect of sodium on blood pressure.

The fruit is also believe to enable the team boost ability, regulate mood and fasten memory.

The Nigerian side is topping their group with six points from two games, Egypt are trailing with three points, while Guinea Bissau and Sudan are rock bottom with one point apiece.
