World Powerlifting champion in the 48kg,Oyo State Yakubu Adesokan Saturday won the 7th gold medal for the state.
Adosokan lifted 155kg to emerged the Champion in the 48kg category at the ongoing Edo National Sports Festival.
The event held at the Gymnastic hall of Sam Ogbemudia Stadium saw another Oyo state powelifter,Mimo Olabode won silver in the Male category lifting 149kg in the same category.
In the female category, Oyo state Toyosi Osewa won bronze. Meanwhile the total medal haul of the state stands at 40.7 gold,9silver and 24bronze medals.
Lagos state male handball team has zoomed into the final of the handball event with 38 -24 points victory over the host state, Edo and in the female category, Delta state defeated Plateau by 27-22 to book a place in the final.
The semi final match between Kano and Borno ,Edo and Kaduna in the male and female categories are on going at at the time of filling this story.
