Former Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare will on Tuesday 2nd April, 2024 unveil a new football club, Black Scorpions in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
The club is set to compete in the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) with plans to gain promotion to the elite Division (NPFL) in no distant time.
Dare who is a renowned sports enthusiast and philanthropist expressed his excitement on the launching of the club and emphasized his commitment to developing grassroots football in the South West region. He stated that the aim of Black Scorpions is to provide young talent players with the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially make a career in professional football.
The unveiling ceremony would be attended by many sports stakeholders across Nigeria, politicians, dignitaries across Oyo State.
The Stingers is expected to begin training sessions soon and will be scouting for talented players to join the team. Dare has also announced his intention to invest in infrastructure and facilities to support the development of football in the state.
With support of sports enthusiasts and stakeholders in Nigeria, Black Scorpions is poised to make a mark in Nigerian football.
