Ex-Super Eagles dazzling winger, Dimeji Lawal is optimistic that the Flying Eagles will edge the host, Argentina in the Round of 16 tie at the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup.

Dimeji Lawal helped Nigeria to win silver at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia in 1989.

The Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadah Team Manager admitted that it would not be an easy task for Nigeria, he however advised that the Ladan Bosso boys should be confident, believe that it’s possible to beat the Argentines and played according to the instructions given by the coach.

“In football everything is possible. It’s going to be a difficult game no doubt but Flying Eagles will win in the end.” Dimeji Lawal told BSN Sports.

He added, “In the first instance, we are playing against the host and Argentina is one the top rated football country in the world but for me everything is possible in football.

“I could remember when this U20 wanted to play against Italy many bookmakers wrote them off but eventually they defeated Italy and that’s why they qualified for the Round of 16 with two wins.

“To become Champions, you have to defeat the best enroute the final. My advise is that they have to be brief with ball, the players should obey coach instructions. In football any team can beat any team any day with the way they played against Italy, I believe they will beat Argentina.” He concluded.

Two times FIFA U20 World Cup finalists, Nigeria will trade tackles with Argentina in the Second Round on Wednesday 31st May at 10pm Nigerian time.
